Chelle Morrison has been a leader in the U.S. salon business since founding her own salon in 2005. She has over 18 years creating innovative practices in the salon, product, and beauty world.
As a woman entrepreneur she has overcome many challenges to run one of the most successful salons in Austin, Texas. Since she founded Urban Betty she has successfully grown revenue year over year and has traded up locations to a space that houses over 25 employees.
Early in her career Chelle placed 2nd in the nation-wide Wella hair colorist of the year contest. Urban Betty has continued that award-winning trend by being named one of the top 200 salons in the U.S. by Salon Today Magazine for 2011, 2012, 2013 & 2014. Her stylists have won an Austin Fashion Week Award, a Golden Boot for Best Hairstylist 2011 and numerous awards from the Austin Chronicle Best Of Awards. Chelle has also been interviewed for nationally syndicated Beauty Podcasts.
Chelle specializes in Wella Koleston Perfect hair color and has graduated from management classes at Bumble and Bumble University and Redken Exchange in New York City.
She also has an active passion for technology, launching her first web site in 2001 and expanding into online appointments, social media marketing, and SEO from there. She recently created a mobile app for her salon customers, and is in the process of funding and creating a second mobile app for the broader salon industry.
Chelle values community service as much as she values living in Austin, Texas and is constantly giving back. Her salon runs several annual cause related campaigns for Movember, Breast Cancer Awareness, and also has an annual women’s clothing swap for the local women's shelter, Austin SafePlace. The salon is also a permanent drop off location for Project Princess, a non-profit for teenage girls. She regularly donates numerous gift certificates & services to the Seton Fund, surrounding Austin elementary schools and the Women's Chamber of Commerce. As of 2012 Chelle became a Big for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Texas. She shares time with her Little, three to four times a month and is constantly inspired by seeing the world through the eyes of a child.
Chelle's future goals are to launch her new stylist focused mobile app, expand Urban Betty into a full spa and a second location in Austin, Texas before setting her sights on other Texas locations.
